I'm back... With some changes in life and the blog

Heeeeeyyyy...

Life got in the way and I neglected posting for some time.

After going through miscarriage, successful pregnancy, mom of 2, LOADS of product choices I've decided to write up some posts. I'll start from the start and work my way down...

I'll cover miscarriage (missed miscarriage specifically) after paragard/ copper T, IUD removal and having a D&C.

TTC aka trying to conceive and vitamins that might help (think staminogro,  fertipil for women, folic acid, prenatals;

Pregnancy after miscarriage aka PAL (pregnancy after loss) and the anxiety that followed me for 38 weeks, as well as vitamins and products I used during pregnancy;

Becoming a mom of 2, having a baby in NICU, and not being able to breastfeed as well as products that made life easier;

Then we're at the present and I'll post reviews/ product views on what I'm using now, products I bought and swear by (some I used 8 years ago with my son) and products that's unfortunately changed and not as good as it was years ago (think pampers and huggies).

Till then...

Mandy's Hair Removal- Hot Waxes and Strip review

Hey

I wanted to go for waxing... I'm not blessed with a lot of body hair. Barely there is what I would describe it as- but it's there. So why not do it myself... at my own pace for a fraction of the price.

So i started researching at home waxes... I love DIY and it looked fine to do with some help with my other half.. At first I was considering sugar waxing but after looking around Mandy's was the range that stood out- locally made, a friend swears by their sensitive wax strips and they were affordable. The sugar waxing was disastrous, and that was after 2 solid set bowls full of "candy". I'll leave it to Mandy's...

DIY Gel nails with Precision Gel Polish- Planet Nails South Africa

Hello everyone...

Well...life is still getting in the way. But lets get right to it. PS: I've been working on this for a week+

I love having a DIY gel mani. Being a working mom, I feel guilty spending my hard earned money on nails... especially if I can do them myself. So 2 years ago I convinced my husband to buy me the Sensationail kit by Nailene (it was readily available- not so much anymore). I paid R799 for the kit- which supplies enough polish to give you 5 full manis. Your investment will be paid up by the 4th.

Caribbean Tan South Africa

Heyyyy everyone...

I'vedeeen super quiet but Murphy doesn't want to give me a break! I've been busy with school, illness and just getting back in the swing of things.

Today I want to show you the Caribbean Tan range. I've always accepted my super fair skin- only6 remotely tanned place is my arms (which changes halfway up so ya) and my feet. I have a love for Ipanema and wear them most of the time so where most people's feet are lighter than their legs- mine is the other way around.

I will be breaking down the whole range and reviewing them separately. Please bear in mind that I have NEVER used and self tans before and this is my honest opinion on the Caribbean tan range. I also will probably not try another product as the other's are WAY too expensive for 2 weeks of tanned legs (the only part I will use it for)

Caribbean Tan is a South African product distributed by Cosmetix in South Africa (think Essence and Catrice) and endorsed by celebrities like ex Miss SA Cindy Nell-Roberts. It's available at Dis-Chem, Clicks and online stores like Lush and Takealot.

Easy Fridge Cheesecake

Hello

Most people that knows me knows... I love a fridge tart. Peppermint, cremora, marshmallow, yoghurt... I love them and so does my Husband and more recently my son has started liking them too. My husband and I (and my son but who am I kidding- he just makes the process longer LOL) whipped up one on Saturday evening for Sunday in less than 30 mins- clean up included!

For this recipe you will need:

1 x Pack of 80g Strawberry Jelly or flavor of your choice
1 x Cup (250ml) of boiling water
1 x Tub 230g Plain Cream Cheese
1 x Can of Condensed Milk
1 x Orley Whip Dessert Topping or Cream

2 Packs of Tennis Biscuits for the crust
FYI I do not like the butter and tennis biscuit mix for a base. I have a perfect square dish which I just pack them in.

For the base:
Arrange tennis biscuits on bottom and sides of dish- square will work best. You can use a double layer on the bottom but I'm not a huge lover of Tennis Biscuits so I just do single. Set aside

1. Mix Jelly and boiling water and stir until it's dissolved. Set aside to cool for a bit but NOT set- not even slightly set! I just pop it in the fridge cos it's a quick recipe.
2. Beat the cream cheese with electric mixture till is smooth- add condensed milk to cream cheese and mix well with electric mixer.
3. In a seperate bowl beat Orley Whip/ Cream until soft peaks form.
4. Now the final step for the mixture, Mix together the Jelly that has slightly cooled with the cream cheese mixture. Lastly add the cream and mix together (I cannot call it "fold it in". Because the mixture is like a milkshake! So I just beat it with the mixer as well on lowest speed and until it's just mixed).

Now you can S L O W L Y pour the mixture over the biscuits. It's really thin and if you're not careful the biscuits will move out of place. I add a layer of tennis biscuits in the middle but you have to get someone to hold the biscuits in place with a fork- they lift easily as the mix is thin. Otherwise if I'm alone I just pour it super slow and I don't pour it down on one area- I move along the biscuits just so they stay in pace and if they list a bit I just poke them down with a fork.

Refrigerate overnight- the mixture sets beautifully and you get a soft, fluffy result with no jelly feeling- I hate fridge tarts that are stiff like jelly. You can make it any flavor you want. You don't taste the cream cheese like you would with a lemon one but I love this one much more.

My favourite will always be yoghurt tart though- but this one takes second place xxx

I will post pics as soon as I make it again- unfortunatelly it was all gone before I could take a picture.
